Sometimes issues can occur that cause the COM Port information to be lost or changed on the PC. Below are the steps to find the correct COM Port that the Tours hardware is using. Your PC may or may not have a 'Serial to USB' adaptor. Please use the correct instructions below for your installation setup:
Protrac iD Hardware (Windows 7):
- Click the 'Start' button on the Windows Task Bar.
- Click 'Control Panel'.
- Click 'Device Manager'.
- Expand 'Ports COM and LPT'.
- If you have a 'Serial to USB' adaptor, look for the COM Port that includes 'USB to Serial' in the name.
- If you do not have a 'Serial to USB' adaptor, look for the COM Port called 'Communications Port'.
Benzing Cogard 3000+ Hardware (Windows 7):
- Click the 'Start' button on the Windows Task Bar.
- Click 'Control Panel'.
- Click 'Device Manager'.
- Expand 'Ports COM and LPT'.
- Look for the COM Port that includes 'Silicon Labs' in the name.
